Public consultation: Master plan for the harbour area

Amendment to the master plan for the harbour area in Hafnarfjörður

A public meeting is called for 17 March 2021 from 17:00 to 18:30 at Norðurhellu 2, where a proposal for an amended master plan for the harbour area in Hafnarfjörður will be presented. The number of participants in the room will be limited in accordance with government guidelines on social distancing and capacity. All attendees are kindly requested to wear a face mask.

The presentation meeting will also be in live stream on the town's website and on The City of Hafnarfjörður's Facebook page.

The Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved the proposal for a plan amendment report, together with a map, on 3 March 2021. In the current plan, the area covered by the proposal is designated as H1 and H2 (harbour area). With the amendment, the land use of the area will be defined as M5 and M6 (central area), IB15 (residential area) and H6 (harbour area). The proposal also includes areas at sea and along the harbour front where the land use will be defined as H7 and H8 (harbour area). 

The proposal for the general plan amendment will be advertised later.

Please be advised that a framework plan for the area has been approved. A major plan amendment is currently being prepared, covering a larger area than that of the framework plan. The framework plan area is part of this amendment.  See information page
