Quality management, receipt of drawings, registration of building managers and masters

According to the Act on Civil Engineering No. 160/2010, all designers, construction managers and master craftsmen are required to have a quality management system registered with the Civil Engineering Authority from the beginning of 2015 – www.mannvirkjastofnun.is

It is not permitted to accept drawings from designers without a registered quality management system with the Building Control Authority, and they will not be processed. However, corrected data may be accepted for applications that have been deferred at a committee meeting before the year-end.

It is also prohibited to register a building supervisor or a tradesperson for a project if they have not registered a quality management system with the Building Control Authority.
