Recommendations for the review of school policy

The steering group for the review of the school policy for Hafnarfjörður is seeking suggestions and ideas for the review process. It has sent out a letter to nursery parent councils, primary school councils, parent-teacher associations and other relevant parties, which states, among other things:

„Education is one of the most important activities of the municipality. A review of Hafnarfjörður's education policy is currently underway, and we have been appointed by the Hafnarfjörður Municipal Council of Education to a steering group for the project.

School education touches upon most aspects of society, and therefore we have made the decision to approach numerous stakeholders within the municipality to provide us with ideas and suggestions regarding education in primary schools, nurseries, music schools and adult education/further education in the town. The aim is to review what has been successful and what our expectations are for the school system in the coming years.

We are asking you to send us written suggestions on matters and ideas that you believe should be included in the educational policy for Hafnarfjörður for the coming years.

You are welcome to contact others about this matter and forward it to those who might be interested and have input into the work on the school policy.

We ask you to send us your contribution no later than Friday, 27th March to the email address skolastefna@hafnarfjordur.is. Enquiries about the project can also be sent there if further information is required.“
