Renovated playground between Lækjarhvammur and the South Town Pool
The beautiful autumn weather has allowed for continued work and maintenance on the town's open play areas. The City of Hafnarfjörður recently completed the renovation of an open play and football pitch between Lækjarhvammur and the Suðurbær Swimming Pool.
The beautiful autumn weather has allowed for continued work and maintenance on the town's open play areas. The City of Hafnarfjörður recently completed the renovation of an open play and football pitch between Lækjarhvammur and the Suðurbær Swimming Pool.
New swing, new goals, new slide and more
New boundaries were installed, with a timber fence on either side, and a turfed football pitch was also laid. On the open playground, a new swing, a new slide and new rubber surfacing were installed as a safety surface. A new spring-loaded swing has recently been installed, and a baby swing is due to be installed soon. At the same time, two new lampposts were installed, as the area has been used as a sledge run during the winter months when conditions are suitable. The work was carried out by staff from the service centre and contractors. A large group of families has been eagerly awaiting the completion of the works, and the playground is already being heavily used.
