Flats for rent in Skarðshlíð – deadline is 10 November
The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður, on behalf of the Skarðshlíðar Housing Association (SHES), recently advertised available rental flats at Hádegisskarð 12 and 16 in Skarðshlíðar. The application deadline is midnight on Sunday, 10 November.
The purpose of the rental flats is to ensure that low-income individuals and families have access to secure housing on a long-term tenancy.
Hafnarfjörður Municipality, on behalf of Skarðshlíðar Housing Society hses, recently advertised available rental flats at Hádegisskarð 12 and 16 in Skarðshlíðar. Ten of the twelve flats will be allocated in accordance with the existing allocation rules and the provisions of the Act on General Housing. The rent is around 2,500 kr. per square metre (October 2019) and is regularly updated in line with the consumer price index for indexation. The application deadline is midnight on Sunday, 10 November. Applications are submitted electronically via My Pages – application for a rental flat. The first residents are expected to move in around mid-December.
Allocation and allocation rules
The allocation rules are referred to, concerning, for example, the conditions for the allocation of flats, registration on the waiting list, applications, allocations and more. The annual income of tenants of general housing at the start of the tenancy (2019) shall not exceed 5,345,000 kr. for a single person, or 7,484,000 kr. for a married or cohabiting couple. An additional 1,336,000 kr. shall be added for each child or young person up to the age of 20 who resides in the household. The combined total assets of tenants of general housing, less total liabilities at the start of the tenancy, with reference to sections 72-75. secs. of the Income Tax Act, based on the previous year's tax return as confirmed by the Director of Taxation, shall not exceed the higher amount of 5,769,000 kr.
