Improvements to open playgrounds

In Hafnarfjörður there are Numerous and varied play and football pitches and each year, their maintenance and renewal are carried out according to a specific priority list. In recent weeks, work has included improvements to the playground between Álfholt and Eyrarholt, and at Akurvellir. 

At a playground in Akurvöllar, a cabin and other play equipment were replaced with new play equipment, climbing frames, a swing and spring-mounted equipment. All the surfacing was replaced and rubber mats, artificial grass, rubber grass mats and turf mats were laid. Staff from the Environment and Planning Department have been working on these projects with contractors.
