Improvements to open playgrounds

This year, there has been a great deal of work renovating the open playgrounds in the town to get them into their best possible condition. These include the exercise equipment in the Víðistaðir area and the playgrounds at Furuvelli and Þúfubarður.

 

In Hafnarfjörður, there are numerous and varied playgrounds and football pitches, and each year their maintenance and renewal is carried out according to a specific priority list. In recent months, work has included, among other things, improvements to playgrounds throughout the town. Staff from the Service Centre have worked on these projects with contractors.

At the end of last year, new trim and/or exercise equipment was installed at the heathland area, where you can, among other things, climb a rope, lift and cycle while sitting on the bench.

The little playground by Bird's-foot Tufa, on Tufa Ridge, was refurbished at the end of last year, with a new surface and play equipment.

The surface at the playground was recently replaced. Pine Plains. Playground gravel was removed and replaced with artificial grass and rubber paving slabs under the play equipment. New heather beds were also installed around the play area.

Last week, the resurfacing of part of the playground at was completed. Dock/Runway, In addition, the slide was renewed, a new swing was installed and the surface was tarmacked.
