The town cinema is full of talented young people from Hafnarfjörður.
The competition took place at the Bæjarbíó, and the venue was packed with a fantastic atmosphere. A total of twelve acts took part, two from each youth centre, having been selected in preliminary rounds held by the centres earlier in the winter. The judges were Una María Bergmann, Sandra Lind Þorsteinsdóttir, Unnur Sara Eldjárn and Daníel Arnarson, and the evening's presenter was Andrés Þór Þorvarðarson, a staff member at the Hrauni youth club.
The winners of the evening, and therefore the representatives of Hafnarfjörður's youth clubs at Samfés, were Birta Guðný Árnadóttir from Vitan with the Tina Turner song 'Proud Mary', and Agnes Björk Rúnarsdóttir from Öldan with the James Brown song 'This Is a Man's Man's Man's World'. The judges and the audience alike were all in agreement that the competition was exceptionally tough this year, as there are incredibly talented youngsters in Hafnarfjörður. We congratulate all the contestants on their fantastic achievement and look forward to seeing the winners be our pride at Samfés.
