Rise in Strætó fares
At a meeting of the Strætó bs. board on 9 December, it was agreed to increase the Strætó fare structure in line with the general rise in operating costs. The new fare structure will come into effect on 3 January 2017.

Strætó. In Strætó's operations, an increase in wage costs and oil prices accounts for 70% of
total operating costs.
General cash fare and single fare in the app will be
440 kr., which is an increase of 4.81%, but cash and single fare in the app.
for children under 18, the elderly and disabled people will remain unchanged. Other
Fare forms such as tickets and cards increase by around 4.0%.
The new Strætó fare structure will take effect on 3 January 2017.
In the Strætó ownership policy, which was approved in April 2013, it states
that the aim should be for fare revenues to cover up to 40% of
the general operating costs of Strætó. Today, fare revenues cover about 32.1% of
the company's general operating costs.
