Residents' satisfaction with the municipality's services in Hafnarfjörður is increasing year on year, according to the results of the annual Gallup service survey, which were published at a meeting of the town council this morning. A total of 91% of residents in Hafnarfjörður are satisfied with the municipality as a place to live. Satisfaction with services for families with children and the elderly has increased the most, as well as with nursery and cultural affairs.

The results of the service survey provide an idea of residents' satisfaction with certain aspects of the council's services. The aim of the survey is to assess satisfaction with the services of the country's largest municipalities, as well as to examine changes from previous measurements. Most people are satisfied with their municipality as a place to live, and the score for Hafnarfjörður is 4.4 out of a possible 5 on a scale of 1-5. Only one factor has decreased year-on-year, and that is satisfaction with rubbish collection, but it is known that many residents of Hafnarfjörður are eagerly awaiting the start of the plastic collection at homes, which is scheduled to begin on 1 March.

A great deal of emphasis has been placed on targeted measures across all areas in recent months and years, and it is therefore pleasing that these actions and implementations appear to be paying off in the experience and satisfaction of both service users and those who assess satisfaction through discussion and conversation with others. Hafnarfjörður performs well in comparison with other municipalities, being at or just above the average for all municipalities, with only two areas below average. This positive result highlights a more positive attitude among residents towards the council's services and is an encouragement to all involved to continue on the same path.
