Hafnarfjörður provides grants to disabled people for the payment of tuition fees not covered by other legislation, provided the course is considered to have value as training or rehabilitation. The application deadline is 30 September 2016.

Grants for the educational costs and purchase of tools and equipment for disabled people

Hafnarfjörður draws attention to the possibilities people with disabilities to apply for grants in accordance with Article 27 of the Act No. 59/1992 on the affairs of disabled people.„Disability refers to the condition that arises when an individual requires long-term, comprehensive services and assistance due to a severe developmental disorder or another impairment of functioning.“

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður provides grants to disabled people for the payment of tuition fees that are not covered by other legislation, provided the course is considered to have value as training or rehabilitation. It is also permissible to grant a grant to disabled people aged 18 and over for the purchase of tools and equipment for home-based work or self-employment, provided the activity is considered to have value as social habilitation or rehabilitation aimed at facilitating for disabled people the creation of their own employment.
