Youth centres
The youth centres offer leisure activities for children and teenagers aged 10–16.
Youth centre activities
The youth clubs operate in premises attached to the primary schools. There, children and teenagers have facilities for leisure activities and socialising with their peers in a safe environment. The work has a preventative, educational and developmental value and takes into account the age and maturity of children and teenagers. Activities take place in clubs, committees, group work, open sessions and through short-term projects.
Emphasis is placed on offering a variety of activities and reaching those children and young people who need social support.
Youth centre opening hours
The opening hours of the youth centres are split.
- Managers are present during the school hours of children and teenagers. The centre is also open during breaks and lunch times when possible, and children and teenagers are welcome to pop in and speak to a member of staff if they have anything on their mind.
