Flexible stay

Flexible hours create the scope to tailor a child's nursery attendance to the family's needs. This way, families only pay for the time their child spends at the nursery. Attendance must be a minimum of 4 hours per day and cannot start later than 9 a.m. every day.

Parents and guardians apply for flexible visiting hours through Valu. You can apply to change your residence period once per term.

The last day of registration is:

  • For the autumn term: 15th August.
  • For the spring term: 15th December.

The positive effects of shorter stays

Shorter school days have been shown to have various positive effects on both children and the school day.

The main advantages of a shorter stay are:

  • Less stress: Shorter stays reduce the pressure on children and staff.
  • Stronger professional work: Better staffing enables staff to provide an even better service to each child.
  • Increased stability: When parents record their child's actual attendance, it leads to greater stability in the nursery.

Reducing a child's time in the nursery can have a positive effect on the nursery's overall work. Having fewer children in a room has, among other things, the effect of reducing stress in children and the pressure created by group size; it strengthens the opportunities for more professional, more individualised work and simplifies staffing. A shorter stay should have a positive impact on both the children themselves and the activities and organisation of the nursery day.
