Support at home
People with disabilities should be able to choose how they live, just like other people in society. In Hafnarfjörður, people with disabilities can get affordable rented accommodation with the support they need, so that they can live in their own home as much as possible.
Supported living can be provided at home, tailored to the circumstances, wishes and needs of each individual. The service can be provided at home, whether people live in their own flat, a private rented flat, or a social rented flat.

People who need more support but can still live at home can receive non-core support. They then receive services from the residential core into their own home.
The residential blocks

There, people receive services tailored to their needs, either around the clock or for part of the day. The housing is designed with equality and the well-being of the residents as its priority.
