Let's shine bright – all together through the winter
In the dark, pedestrians and cyclists are difficult to see despite street lighting and car headlights, and the importance of reflective markings is undeniable. The City of Hafnarfjörður encourages residents and friends of the city to ensure that all outdoor clothing is well-equipped with reflective material. Those interested can collect reflectors from the Hafnarfjörður Library and the town's swimming pools, while stocks last.

In the dark, pedestrians and cyclists are difficult to see, despite street lighting and car headlights, and the importance of reflective markings is undeniable. The City of Hafnarfjörður encourages residents to ensure that all outdoor clothing has good reflective properties – this applies to both adults and children. This can be either through built-in reflectors or by using reflective stickers. Reflection increases safety in traffic
In recent years, all six-year-olds have received a reflective sticker as a gift from the City of Hafnarfjörður in the autumn. With this initiative, the City of Hafnarfjörður wishes to highlight the importance of reflectors and visibility on the roads, and to help ensure the children's safety as they begin their primary school journey. Parents and guardians of all children and young people are encouraged to ensure they use reflective materials and to also check their own reflectivity and visibility. It is best to have reflective markings on the front of the sleeves, hanging down the sides, on shoes or on the lower leg of trousers. The more reflective material in more places, the better. Let's shine bright this winter!
