Agreement signed with Landsnet
On Thursday, 9th July at 14:00, Mayor Haraldur L. Haraldsson of Hafnarfjörður and Guðmundur I. Ásmundsson, CEO of Landsnet, will sign an agreement on the development of part of Landsnet's electricity transmission system within Hafnarfjörður, which includes the demolition of the Hamranes lines.
Tomorrow, Thursday, 9th July at 14:00, Mayor Haraldur L. Haraldsson of Hafnarfjörður and Guðmundur I. Ásmundsson, CEO of Landsnet, will sign an agreement on the development of part of Landsnet's electricity transmission system within Hafnarfjörður, which includes the demolition of the Hamranes lines.
Landsnet, the City of Hafnarfjörður and the Völlar residents' association will also sign a joint declaration.
The signing will take place outdoors at the power station in Hamranes and starts at 14:00.
The Town Council approved at its meeting today the agreement with Landsnet concerning the electricity transmission system in the Vallahverfi area and the improvement of the noise insulation and appearance of the Hamranes substation.
The town council celebrates this milestone and the consultation achieved through the active participation of the parties involved in the negotiations, as well as the involvement of representatives of local residents' associations and the Straumsvík aluminium smelter.
Furthermore, the town council emphasises that work will continue on burying the lines from the substation at Hamranes.
