Registration for summer jobs with the City of Hafnarfjörður is now open! Registration takes place at Our pages – „play schemes, school gardens and playgrounds“ under applications for primary school. 

The City of Hafnarfjörður offers play courses for 7–9 year olds at all schools, school gardens for the whole family in Mosahlíð, on Holtinu, Öldugötu, at Víðistaðir and on Völlum, leisure activities for 10-13 year-olds and fun and creative summer art workshops at Hafnarborg. In July, a roller park will also be run at Bjarma. At the Hafnarfjörður Library, a summer reading programme will be on offer from 1 June to 31 August 2016. All children who can read for themselves can pop into the library to sign up and receive a reading diary.

Then we must not forget the play schemes for the nursery school leavers in August, where the prospective primary school pupils get to familiarise themselves with their after-school club and their new school. 14-16 year-olds get jobs with the Hafnarfjörður Summer School, and 16-20 year-old young people with disabilities receive work-related summer programmes.

A child is to start on Monday if they are to start on a Thursday.

There will be a varied programme on offer this summer for our young people.
