Snow clearance – status update
Staff from the City of Hafnarfjörður and contractors have been working non-stop on snow clearance and gritting since 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. All bus routes and main roads are now clear, and work is underway to clear side streets. Clearing snow from the grounds of schools and nurseries is largely complete, and further clearing will take place today and in the coming days. Residents are kindly asked to clear snow from their rubbish bins.

We will clear the footpaths as much as possible, but in many places this has proven to be very difficult. We sincerely thank residents and other visitors for their understanding. Conditions in the town away from the main roads can be quite difficult, not least for pedestrians. We therefore ask everyone to exercise great caution in traffic and urge people to proceed with care.
Residents of Hafnarfjörður are kindly asked to clear a path to their rubbish bins so that they can be emptied on time.
