Snowboarding in the snow at Víðistaðatún
Dozens of children and teenagers were showing off their skills on snowboards – the local paper Fjarðarfréttir went to see the youngsters. Last night, a large group of children and teenagers were at training on Víðistaðatún, and snow had been added to the slope.

The Hafnarfjörður Boarding Club was founded in 2012 and has grown and flourished ever since. Initially, the focus was mainly on skateboarding, but snowboarding was soon added, and there are now also sections for mountain biking and BMX. Around 140 members aged 5 to 18 take part in organised training with the club, while many more children and young people use the indoor facility every day.
