Sports and Awards Gala. Sportspeople of the Year 2020
Hafnarfjörður Town Council and the Sports and Leisure Committee are hosting a live stream at 18:00 to present awards to athletes and to announce Hafnarfjörður's Sportswoman, Sportsman and Sports Team of the Year 2020.
The Hafnarfjörður Town Council and the Sports and Leisure Committee are holding an awards ceremony for sportspeople competing with teams from Hafnarfjörður, Awards for Icelandic champions, cup winners, Nordic champions, world champions and special achievements, along with the selection of Hafnarfjörður's Sportswoman, Sportsman and Sports Team of the Year 2020. Nearly 400 individuals won Icelandic and/or cup championship titles with a Hafnarfjörður team in 2020, and they are especially congratulated on their achievement. The awards will be made from a fund established by Rio Tinto in Iceland, ÍBH and the City of Hafnarfjörður, which is intended to support sports activities for under-18s.

Delivery and live entertainment
The 2020 Hafnarfjörður Sports and Awards Gala will be held online this year, where the Sportsman and Sportswoman of Hafnarfjörður will be recognised, and the Team of the Year will also be chosen. The event will be streamed live on the council's channels. Tuesday, 29 December at 18:00

Nominations of the year 2020
A total of ten nominations have been announced in each category: Sportswoman of the Year 2020 and Sportsman of the Year 2020. Four teams have been nominated as Hafnarfjörður's Team of the Year 2020.
