Until 20 September 2019, residents and other interested parties have the opportunity to submit comments and additions to the draft report from the working group on the planning of Hafnarfjörður's town centre. It is important to note that the drawings currently available are not part of the working group's work or proposals. All work on the town centre's planning is still at the concept stage.

It is important to note that the drawings currently available are not part of the working group's work or proposals. They need to be further developed in line with the brief proposed by the working group in its report, and residents and other interested parties now have an opportunity to influence this. All work on the town centre's planning is still at the concept stage.  

Public meeting on 17 September at 17:30 in the Town Cinema

An open meeting for residents and other interested parties will be held on Tuesday, 17 September from 17:30 to 18:30 at Hafnarborg. Attendees will have the opportunity to assess the methodology of the conceptual work at this early stage of the planning process, outline their own ideas and take part in a discussion about the future of the town centre. Thorvaldur Sveinsson, the town planner, will review the ideas from the architectural practices and the planning process as a whole. Ágúst Bjarni Garðarsson, chair of the working group on the town centre's planning, will present the group's proposals and draft report, and Kári Eiríksson, an architect and resident representative on the working group, will lead a workshop where guests can share their ideas and opinions.

A Better Hafnarfjörður , by email to hafnarfjordur@hafnarfjordur.is or by post to Hafnarfjörður Municipality, Strandgata 6, 220 Hafnarfjörður, by 20 September 2019. At the meeting of the Town Council on 15 August 2019, it was agreed that the draft report from the working group on the planning of Hafnarfjörður's town centre would be published on the City of Hafnarfjörður's website for 30 days. The Town Council also approved that the working group hold two additional meetings to review submitted comments/additions and submit a finalised document to the Town Council on Thursday, 26 September.
