Stefán Gunnlaugsson, former mayor of Hafnarfjörður and Member of Parliament, died at Hrafnista in Hafnarfjörður on Wednesday, 23rd March, aged ninety. His funeral will take place from Hafnarfjörður Church today.
Stefán was mayor of Hafnarfjörður from 1954 to 1962, a town councillor and president of the town council from 1950 to 1954, and a town councillor from 1970 to 1974. He was then elected to Parliament at national level for the Social Democratic Party from 1971 to 1974.
