Plot for a mobile home or new build – 40 South Street

Hafnarfjörður is advertising a plot of land for allocation for a new build or a house move at 40 Suðurgata. This is a detached house plot, and the plot price is the minimum price for such plots. Both individuals and legal entities may apply. If applying for the plot for a relocatable house, applicants must submit a detailed description of the house proposed for relocation and the project in general.

• The maximum building size on a plot is 160 m².
• The house shall be located within the building plot and has a maximum ground floor area of 56 m².
• The maximum site occupancy ratio is 0.5.
• Maximum wall height from the street floor level is 3.50 m.
• Roof pitch is 35°- 45°
• The total length of the flanges must not exceed 50% of the length of the long wall.
• Price is the minimum price for a detached house plot, kr. 13,432,820, based on the construction index in January 2020.
• A house must comply with the conditions of the local plan.

Payment for the plot is due 45 days after the town council's decision on allocation.

Application for a transit house

A report on the building to be moved onto the plot must be submitted with the application for a relocatable building, and the planning officer of the City of Hafnarfjörður will assess the applications from a planning perspective. Supporting documents to the application must include:

• Report on the house to be moved onto the plot
• Photos of the house, inside and out
• Age information
• Information on the size of the base area
• Information about current location
• Drawings, plus a building history if available.

Application deadline and processing

Applications must be submitted via My Pages by close of business on Friday, 14 February 2020. Please note: If more than one application is received that meets the criteria for allocation and/or for mobile homes which the Planning Officer deems valid, a draw will be held between the applicants. Applications are scheduled to be considered at the Town Council meeting on 27 February 2020.
