Sunday evening swimming at the South Bay Pool: Summer opening hours
The South Bay Pool will be open until 21:00 on Sundays instead of 17:00. The Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool will close from 15 July. Summer opening hours are now in effect at the swimming pools in Hafnarfjörður.

Summer opening will be in South Bay Swimming Pool On Sundays this summer. We'll be open until 9 p.m. on Sunday evenings instead of 5 p.m. Now's your chance to come for a swim.
The pool has been upgraded and refurbished. A new steam room has been opened, and if it's been a while since your last visit, a new snake pool and two cold plunge pools might also be a pleasant surprise. However, renovations are still underway at the Suðurbær Pool. This doesn't stop us locals from enjoying the pool, which is a hidden gem here in Hafnarfjörður.
Swimming over the Bank Holiday weekend
For those who love to be organised, it's good to know that over the Bank Holiday weekend, the South Bay Pool will be open on Monday, 5th August until 9 p.m. On Sunday, 4th August, it will be open until 17:00. As previously mentioned, it is generally open until 21:00 on Sundays this summer, and Sunday, 11th August will be the last day with this extended summer opening.
Yes, all our swimming pools are waiting for their people this winter. This summer, however, the 50-metre pool in Ásvallalaug Closed for tile maintenance from Monday 1st July for approximately 2 weeks. Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool will then be closed from 15 July and will reopen on 12 August.
