Support for staff in early years education

Today, contracts were signed with staff at the town's nurseries who will receive a study grant from the City of Hafnarfjörður to study to become nursery teachers.
23 nursery staff have been awarded scholarships to study for a degree in early years education, either at undergraduate or postgraduate level. They receive support to attend classes during working hours, thereby receiving full pay whilst on leave from their jobs at the nurseries.
The aim of the educational support for nursery school staff is to attract more nursery school teachers.
The picture accompanying the news was taken at the signing of the contracts today, which was attended by some of the grant recipients, along with representatives of nursery headteachers and staff from the School Office.
