The Swimming Pool is the oldest pool in Hafnarfjörður and is known for its relaxed atmosphere.

The Pool and Facilities

The swimming pool has an indoor pool which is 25 metres long, 8.7 metres wide, and 3.2 metres deep at its deepest end. Two spacious hot tubs are located in an enclosed garden by the building, with powerful massage jets that are very popular. Changing rooms are in separate men's and women's sections.

The pool is heavily used by older people and residents in the vicinity. The Hafnarfjörður Swimming Club holds some of its training sessions at the pool, and pupils from Víðistaðaskóli and Engidalsskóli attend for their school swimming lessons.

Hafnarfjörður's oldest swimming pool

The Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool is the oldest swimming pool in Hafnarfjörður. Initially, there was only an outdoor pool at Krosseyrarmalir, which was opened in 1943. The Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool was then opened in 1953, after the outdoor pool had been enclosed.
