The Lifeshape is a health and motivational project by the Icelandic Sports and Olympic Association that appeals to all the nation's people. Its aim is to combat a sedentary lifestyle and encourage people to be more active in their daily lives.
The recommendations of the Chief Medical Officer on physical activity are followed, which state that children and adolescents need to be active for at least 60 minutes daily, and adults need to engage in moderate-intensity physical activity for at least 21.4 minutes daily.
In the Life's Leap, the target is 30 minutes a day for those aged 16 and over. Regular exercise promotes better sleep, improves quality of life, reduces the risk of various diseases and strengthens the cardiovascular system.
Registration opened on 16 January and is now open. The competition runs from 1 to 28 February.
The Lifeshlupið is divided into these competition categories:
- Workplace competition from 1 to 28 February, for 16 years and over (four weeks)

- Primary school competition from 1 to 28 February, for 15 years and under (two weeks)
- 60+ Fitness Groups from 1st – 28th February, (four weeks)
