More artists than ever in the festival's history

The HEIMA music festival celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. This year, fourteen artists will take to the stage in the heart of Hafnarfjörður, in the living rooms of local residents, and there have never been more. This year's special guest is Døgg Nónsgjógv, as the festival has its roots in HOYMA in Gøtu, Faroe Islands, and the organisers have tried to maintain the tradition of featuring one act from the Faroe Islands each year. It's shaping up to be another very lively Last Day of Winter in Hafnarfjörður in 2024.

A unique and cosy festival in the heart of Hafnarfjörður

The HEIMA festival has firmly established itself as a fun and unique music festival, offering a different experience and a greater sense of intimacy than concert-goers and artists are generally used to. Hafnarfjörður residents open their homes in the town centre, and in each house, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., two different artists or bands play. The Free Church in Hafnarfjörður is one of the HEIMA – houses and has been for years. The festival also uses the stage at the Bæjarbíó, reflecting the festival's diversity – all sorts of venues and all sorts of music. This is where festival-goers who want even more culture and joy come together towards the end of the festival.

The festival begins with live music in Ægir 220

HEIMA 2024 will be launched in Ægi 220 at 7 p.m. with live music, and the festival wristbands will be handed out on the day of the festival, Wednesday 24 April, from 2 p.m. The first HEIMA concerts begin at 19:30 in the Fríkirkjan and the last will finish at around 23:00. There are two closing acts at the Bæjarbíó this time, with the programme starting at 23:15 and lasting for approximately an hour. HEIMA is a music festival that offers intimacy between performers and guests, as well as a diverse range of music for people of all ages. This year's line-up includes Rebekka Blöndal, Klara Elias, Døgg Nónsgjógv, Margrét Eir, Brek, GDRN, Magnús Jóhann, Hipsumhaps and Emmsjé Gauti.
