Tesla's headquarters will be a two-storey, 6,000-square-metre steel-framed building with an 800-square-metre concrete core, on a plot of just under 16,000 square metres at Borgahellu 6. Tesla in Iceland will lease the majority of it. The core will house a reception and showroom on the ground floor and offices on the first floor. Bæjarbyggð has permission to build more on the large plot.

„The final design for the building is available, as are the architectural and engineering drawings. Groundworks have begun and a stone wall has been built. Construction will get into full swing in the spring, and it is hoped that the building will be ready by the end of 2026/2027 at the latest. The area is experiencing rapid growth, with significant development of both residential and industrial properties, which has a corresponding effect on property prices and the value of the plots. The business park is divided by industry, thus preparing the area to welcome different companies of all sizes and types, including in tourism, retail, services, the knowledge industry, manufacturing, port operations, and heavy industry.  This classification is based, in part, on grouping related activities together, allowing each company to choose the environment that best suits it.
