In the autumn of 1961, over 200 seven and eight-year-old children started at Öldutúnsskóli. Haukur Helgason was appointed headmaster, along with four teachers. Among them was Sigríður Þorgeirsdóttir, or Stella as she is usually called. Her last working day was at the school leavers' ceremony on Wednesday, 10th June, where she received tokens of appreciation from her colleagues. Stella has taught at Öldutúnsskóli for over 50 years; a record that few can beat.

We would like to thank Stella sincerely for her good and rewarding collaboration over the years and wish her all the best for the future.
