Beauty Contest 2024 – Recognition for Contribution to Beautification  

An ambitious contribution to environmental issues and the beautification of the local area  

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður is seeking nominations from residents and all interested parties for awards for a dedicated contribution to environmental matters and the beautification of the town. The awards can be given to both individuals who selflessly clean and beautify their surroundings, and to the owners of plots and certain areas. in Hafnarfjörður. The selection for the awards is based in part on submitted nominations, and all interested parties are encouraged to submit their nominations via the town's website by 1 September.

For several years, the Environment and Operations Council has been awarding accolades for beautiful gardens, attractive and tidy houses, beautiful new builds or streetscapes, as well as business premises considered exemplary. This year, nominations are being accepted for a wider range of categories, because beauty truly is found everywhere; both in the environment and, not least, in the people themselves and their commitment to environmental matters. We would welcome a wide range of nominations that recognise the contributions of individuals and businesses and serve as an inspiration to others. Many small things make one big thing.  

The deadline for nominations is 1 September.  

Nominations for the awards are based in part on submissions, and residents, visitors, staff of businesses and organisations in Hafnarfjörður, and others interested are encouraged to nominate them and the best in the field of environmental affairs. Awards will be presented at a ceremony in Hellisgerði in September.
