Ásvallabrautin is open again
Ásvallabraut, from the roundabout at Kaldárselsveg to Aftantorg at Skarðshlíð, is now open to traffic again. The road was closed on 18th April and was scheduled to remain closed until 16th May. Every effort was made to speed up the construction of a new roundabout for the entrance to Ásland 4, which was the reason for the closure.
Construction work completed and the track is open again.
Ásvallabraut, from the roundabout at Kaldárselsveg to Aftantorg at Skarðshlíð, reopened to traffic on Friday, 12th May. The road was closed on 18th April and was scheduled to remain closed until 16th May. Every effort was made to speed up the construction of a new roundabout for the entrance to Ásland 4, which was the reason for the closure. The footpath along Ásvallabraut is still closed and will likely remain so until late autumn 2023.
