The annual Vegan Festival at Thorsplan

News

It was a real feast of food and music for the whole family at the annual Vegan Festival in Thorsplan yesterday. Festival-goers enjoyed all sorts of vegan treats, browsed a diverse range of goods and art, and listened to the sweet sounds of Klara Elías, Ragnheiður Gröndal and other fantastic musicians from here in Hafnarfjörður.

Food and music party

It was very busy yesterday in the fine weather at the annual Vegan Festival in Thorsplan, organised by the Icelandic Vegan Society. It was a veritable feast of food and music for the whole family. Festival-goers enjoyed all sorts of vegan treats, browsed a diverse range of goods and art, and enjoyed the sweet sounds of Klara Elías, Ragnheiður Gröndal and other fantastic musicians from here in Hafnarfjörður.

Defending the welfare and rights of animals

The aim of the organisation is to defend the welfare and rights of animals, as well as the interests of vegans. The Vegan Society ran a stall at the festival yesterday, where you could, among other things, buy T-shirts to decorate yourself and support the work at the same time.

The main projects of the Icelandic Vegan Society

  • To provide active education and information.
  • Organise a variety of events for people, including Veganúar and the Vegan Festival.
  • To engage in active lobbying, and to hold governments, institutions and companies to account.
  • Support increased innovation and availability of vegan food, and recognise good practice.

Everyone is welcome to join the association to support the work.

We thank you for a good festival and see you again next year!

Here are some carefully selected photos from this year's festival.
