The big litter pick is on Sunday, 26th April. Please put the rubbish in clear bags. You can get these from the Service Centre, Norðurhæll 2. They can then be disposed of at the nearest recycling centre.
Let's keep our fjord clean
Hafnarfjörður is taking part in the Big Tidy-up Day this year, as in previous years. The day will be held on Sunday, 26th April.
The Great Litter Pick is an annual event organised by the Plokk Society in Iceland in collaboration with Rotary International in Iceland. Please bring a bin bag. It is a good idea to wear gloves. Litter pickers can then take their findings to recycling centres.
Please note – clear bags can be collected during opening hours at the Service Centre, Norðurhæll 2, until the weekend.
- Have clear plastic bags; it is ideal to have two bags, one for the plastic and everything else in the other.
Remember to dress for the conditions. High-visibility vests are recommended, but compulsory when picking along roads or streets.
