The first weekend in December, Christmas officially begins in Hafnarfjörður with the opening of the Christmas Village and the switching on of the Christmas lights on Thorsplani. The Christmas Village will be open from 12 pm to 5 pm every Saturday and Sunday during Advent, and the lighting ceremony will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday evening, 30 November.
