The Christmas spirit in Hafnarfjörður this weekend

The opening weekend of the Christmas Village at Thorsplan was a fantastic event. Thousands visited the heart of Hafnarfjörður and enjoyed the moment together. Grýla, Stekkjastaur and Bjúgnakrækir ran around the area, causing havoc.

The male choir Þrestir sang and the Hafnarfjörður Brass Band played Christmas tunes. Sylvía Melsted and Árni Beinteinn led the procession and the ceremony when the Cuxhaven Christmas tree, a gift from our twin town, was lit for the 37th time.

The ice rink was packed with children all weekend, the atmosphere at Barbara's was brilliant before and after the show 'Christmas on Ice' at the town's cinema. Yes, the town was buzzing with life.

Next weekend will also be exciting. We can look forward to it.
