The final of the Great Reading Competition will be held at Hafnarborg on Tuesday, 2nd April at 5 p.m. At the event, Year 7 pupils will read an extract from a work of fiction and a poem. Finally, the judging panel will select the three best readers and present them with prizes. 

The final event of the Great Reading Competition will be held at Hafnarborg on Tuesday, 2nd April at 5 p.m. At the event, Year 7 pupils, selected from the primary schools of Hafnarfjörður, will read an extract from a work of fiction and a poem. Finally, a judging panel will select the three best readers and present awards. In addition, young musicians will perform, and the event is expected to last for two hours. The competition's authors this time are Ævar Þór Benediktsson and Anna Sigrún Snorradóttir.

At the ceremony, the results of the short story competition for pupils in Years 8 to 10 will also be announced, and awards will be presented. A competition was held for the 6th-grade pupils in the state schools to design the invitation. The winning design will adorn the invitation, and the winner will be recognised at the ceremony.

Guests are welcome as long as there is room.

The competition is being held Voices, an association for quality reading and presentation in collaboration with the City of Hafnarfjörður.
