The VITINN podcast – Bright days all summer long
In the programme, Tryggvi Rafnsson and Andri Ómarsson discuss how the 'Bright Days' festival will be organised this summer, as well as the special grants available to apply for to host events and happenings across the town in the summer of 2021.
The Lighthouse, the City of Hafnarfjörður's podcast, has been dormant for a long time alongside the restrictions on gatherings, but with the rising sun and growing hope for further easing of restrictions, the Vitans' journey continues. The Lighthouse is an interesting and exciting way of providing information to residents and all those interested in the municipality, its challenges, projects and services. The podcast opens up the opportunity for more in-depth coverage of individual projects, services and topics that are currently a major topic of discussion.
Bright days will be the highlight of a diverse range of celebrations in Hafnarfjörður.
The Bjartir dagar cultural festival will be held in Hafnarfjörður throughout the summer. The festival will be the centrepiece of a wide variety of celebrations across the town, which will delight residents and visitors alike and reflect the diverse cultural life of Hafnarfjörður. In a normal year, this first-of-its-kind municipal festival runs for five days, but it has been decided that the festival, which began on the last day of winter with the selection of a Hafnarfjörður town artist, the presentation of cultural grants and a summer concert by students, will run for the entire summer. Funding for initiative projects has been increased, and all interested parties are encouraged to apply for micro-grants for events and entertainment during the 2021 Summer Days.
In this first episode after the break, Tryggvi Rafnsson and Andri Ómarsson go over how the festival will be organised this summer, as well as discussing the micro-grants available to apply for to host events and happenings around the town this summer.
