The Employment Centre began its operations in the spring of 2010 with an agreement between
Hafnarfjörður Municipality and the Employment Authority. The Centre
has provided job placement, advice and other services to jobseekers in
Hafnarfjörður. The Employment Centre was established in response to the tightening of
labour market and the consequences of the economic crisis. There have been changes in this respect
the last few quarters and unemployment has decreased significantly. The employment centre
played a significant role at this time and was crucial in the service of
jobseekers. In addition, the Employment Centre has been a vital link in
