Beauty Pageant 2016 – Nominations

The City of Hafnarfjörður is seeking nominations from residents and other interested parties for awards for the tidiness and beauty of properties, gardens and streets in Hafnarfjörður. Awards will be presented for the tidiest property, the most beautiful garden, the most beautiful street and the tidiest business. The awards are based solely on nominations submitted, so residents, employees and others are encouraged to get actively involved.

Recently, the Hafnarfjörður town council agreed to re-establish a beautification committee, which has, among other things, the task of nominating properties, gardens and streets for awards for tidiness and appearance, thus setting a certain standard in this regard. both in residential and commercial areas.  With this, the City of Hafnarfjörður aims to raise public interest in the beautification of the local environment by drawing attention to those who are considered exemplary in environmental matters within the town, and who should thus serve as an incentive for others to take action. It is extremely important that residents and businesses are encouraged and rewarded for good upkeep and a tidy environment. The selection for the awards in summer 2016 is based solely on submitted nominations, and residents, employees and other interested parties are therefore encouraged to take an active part. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Þöll Nursery on Kaldársel Road in August. 

The deadline for submitting nominations is until Tuesday, 2 August 2016.
