Streets swept in Hafnarfjörður

News Uncategorised Announcements

Key roads in Hafnarfjörður are being swept at the moment – whenever the opportunity arises. Progress is weather-dependent, but the frost is slowing down the pace of operations.

The street sweeper is out and about.

Key routes in the town have been swept to tackle particulate matter and clean the main streets. Other streets will have to wait for better weather. For street sweeping to be effective, the roads need to be thawed, so as not to create a hazard on the town's streets. The frost is therefore slowing down the pace of the operation.
All streets in Hafnarfjörður are generally swept twice a year, and the main streets more often. The spring programme begins when no further snow or frost is expected for the rest of the winter.
