A new episode of Vitan has been released. In this episode, Árdís Ármannsdóttir, Communications Manager for the City of Hafnarfjörður, tackles the planning issues in Hafnarfjörður and speaks with architect Gunnþóra Guðmundsdóttir and planner Þormóður Sveinsson, who live and work in that environment every day.

In this episode, Árdís Ármannsdóttir, Communications Manager for the City of Hafnarfjörður, tackles the planning issues in Hafnarfjörður and speaks with Gunnþóra Guðmundsdóttir, an architect, and Þormóður Sveinsson, the town planner, who live and work in that environment every day. While planning can be creative and enjoyable, it can also be intricate and complex. In this two-part episode, the council's experts in the field attempt to shed light on the planning process, explain the terminology used when discussing planning matters, as well as covering areas that are under development and review.

In this episode, we chat with two of the staff who are at the forefront of planning matters for the City of Hafnarfjörður on a daily basis. Planning matters can, by their very nature, be complex in both preparation and execution, whilst at the same time they can be extremely fun and creative. Gunnþóra and Þormóður talk about themselves, their hobbies and future dreams, as well as trying to explain in simple terms what planning is all about. What is a master plan? What is a detailed plan? What is a specification? And how does it all fit together? Where is development set to take place? Which areas have been designated as growth areas, and why?
