But do not despair. In response to the situation, the council is offering a temporary solution for one year. Operators will have the opportunity to park larger vehicles at 12-14 Óseyrarbraut. This is a temporary measure while operators establish suitable facilities to store these large vehicles.
But why can't they be parked in Tjarnarvellir? According to the Hafnarfjörður police ordinance, it is forbidden to park vehicles with a permitted total weight of 5 tonnes or more, as well as passenger transport vehicles that can carry 10 or more passengers, on streets or public car parks. This also applies to general car parks in residential areas, unless they are specifically designated for such vehicles.
The town urges all parties concerned to respect the applicable regulations and make use of the temporary arrangements now on offer.
