Hafnarfjörður is introducing 'Vitann', its new podcast. This is a pilot project and an exciting new way of providing information to residents and all those interested in the municipality, its topics, projects and services. 

The municipality has grown significantly in recent years, with residents of all ages having diverse interests and using different methods to access information. The podcast offers more in-depth coverage of specific projects, services and topics that are currently a major topic of discussion. Episodes of Vitan can be accessed HERE on the City of Hafnarfjörður's website, as well as on podcast platforms such as Spotify , Simplecast and Podcast Addict. Work is underway to make Vitann available on more platforms.

Episode #1 – Björn Pétursson, the town's heritage officer 

In the first episode of Vitan, Sigurjón Ólafsson, Director of Service and Development, speaks with Björn Pétursson, the town's curator and director of the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum. The interview is recorded in the historic Bookless Bungalow on Vesturgata, where Björn guides listeners through interesting aspects of the museum's work, the town's history and tells amusing stories, including about a ghostly haunting, Sigga's vote-gathering in Siggubær, and gives us a recipe for a good Sunday in Hafnarfjörður.
