The map of Hafnarfjörður is the key to Hafnarfjörður.
„The Hafnarfjörður Card is the key to Hafnarfjörður,“ says Þóra Hrund Guðbrandsdóttir, Managing Director of the Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður, about this brand-new Hafnarfjörður gift and loyalty card. „It's the dream Christmas present this year.“
Christmas in the City of Hafnarfjörður
„The Hafnarfjörður Card is the key to Hafnarfjörður. You have the town in your pocket – or rather, on your palm – and can shop with local businesses using the card,“ says Þóra Hrund Guðbrandsdóttir, managing director of the Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður, about this brand-new gift and loyalty card from the town in the Christmas issue of the town's magazine. „It's the dream Christmas gift this year.“
It works like the Kringla Card, but the play area is the shops, service businesses, cafés and restaurants of Hafnarfjörður. The Hafnarfjörður Card can also be put in the phone, wallet, or get it as a gift voucher. „The money is waiting for you to use it at a shop that suits you. This gift card won't go to waste, therefore.“ Þóra says the card is ideal as a gift from companies to their staff. She adds that this gives the people of Hafnarfjörður their own little economy.
„With the card, we support the shops and businesses in Hafnarfjörður. People can pay for their groceries, buy something beautiful or enjoy an experience and some food,“ says Þóra.
„With the Hafnarfjörður Card, we're creating a community around the service. It's a cycle. The money always stays within our own economy. It's a kind of Hafnarfjörður Króna,“ says Þóra. „It's a benefits card because shops and service providers often offer better terms.“
Thóra has been running the Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður for almost two years. „My Christmas is rather traditional. I'm not much for traditions and doing things the same way year after year, except when it comes to Christmas,“ says this mother of three. „That's when I want to create traditions and memories that we only do repeatedly at that time. So, everything here will be done in the traditional way – turkey on Christmas Eve and Wellington on New Year's Eve.“
- The card can be purchased in the Christmas Village, at the City of Hafnarfjörður service centre, and online at hafnarfjardarkortid.is.
- Companies in Hafnarfjörður that wish to take part can go to hafnarfjardarkortid.is and register.
