The Christmas Village's opening hours are extended.
The Christmas Village's opening hours are being extended by two hours on Saturdays this year. It will be open from 1 pm to 8 pm. This means you will be able to enjoy the Christmas lights and the food and drink for longer.
Applications open for the 2025 Christmas Village
Yes, there's good news about the Christmas Village at Thorsplan. We are now extending our opening hours on Saturdays until 8 p.m. Visitors can therefore enjoy the Christmas lights after dark. Also, the tens of thousands of visitors who attend entertainment in the town, such as Sól Hólm's show at the Bæjarbíó, can start their evening in our lovely village.
Hafnarfjörður is reviewing applications and looking for the perfect mix of vendors for this year's Christmas Village. Applications are open until 1 October. See the conditions here.
The Christmas Village is looking to partner with individuals, organisations and businesses selling quality products, a diverse range of merchandise with a clear connection to the nation's Christmas traditions.
Opening hours
This year the village opens on Friday. Fourteen NDecember. We will be open throughout Advent on Fridays from 5 pm - 8 pm, Saturdays from 1 pm - 8 pm and Sundays from 1 pm - 6 pm. On Monday, 22nd December, we will be open from 5 pm - 8 pm and on Christmas Eve from 1 pm - 9 pm.
