The other side of the fireworks
Many hands make light work. We encourage residents of Hafnarfjörður to set a good example, clear up after their fireworks and dispose of them properly.
A lot of rubbish is generated over the New Year period when tonnes of fireworks are launched into the air. Fireworks that delight us as they appear in beautiful colours above us, but perhaps less so when they land on the ground, scattered all over our beautiful town.
Let's join hands and clean up after the New Year.
As with so much else, many hands make light work. We encourage the residents of Hafnarfjörður to set a good example, clean up after themselves and dispose of rubbish properly. If as many people as possible take the time in the new year to beautify their local area and lend a hand, we will get the town into good shape quickly and surely after the turn of the year.
It is recommended that rubbish from fireworks is taken to Sörpu's collection centres.
Happy and beautiful fireworks!
