The cultural centre Hafnarborg received this week The Icelandic Music Awards for the event of the year (a one-off concert), in the classical and contemporary music category, for the opening concert of the exhibition 'Hljóðana', which was part of the programme for Myrkir músíkdagar.

Congratulations to Hafnarborg and the artists behind this unique concert and exhibition!
Hafnarborg would like to thank the percussionist Jennifer Torrence, for an unforgettable interpretation of the works of Toms Johnson and Bergrún Snæbjörnsdóttir, and Thorani Hjálmarsson, the curator, for his excellent work. Special thanks are also extended to all the artists who had works in the exhibition and participated in the related programme of events for their contribution.
It's not every day that an art gallery receives a music award. – but at Hafnarborg, music in its many forms has been nurtured since the very first years of its operation. This award is an encouragement for Hafnarborg and the City of Hafnarfjörður to continue on this path.
