Aren't you sure you're going to be there this year?

The Lifshlaupið is a health and motivational project by the Icelandic Sports and Olympic Association that appeals to all Icelanders. Its aim is to encourage the nation to follow the recommendations of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer on physical activity, whether in leisure time, at work, at school or when choosing a mode of transport. The recommendations state that children and adolescents should be physically active for at least 60 minutes daily, and adults should engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity daily. Now more than ever, it is important to look after both our mental and physical health. This can be done, in part, by exercising regularly, as every bit helps. Get involved and encourage those around you to take part in the Lífshlaupið 2023 too!

The Lifeshape is divided into four competition classes:

  • Workplace competition from 1 February – 21 February, for 16 years and over
  • Secondary school competition from 1 February – 14 February, for 16 years and over
  • Primary school competition from 1 February – 14 February, for under-15s
  • An individual competition where everyone can log their activity all year round.

The Lífshlaupið app makes it simple to log your activity during the Lífshlaupið campaign.. In the app, you can log and view all activity from a week ago. You can also read activity directly from Strava. However, it is worth noting that you need to go to The Lifehacks website to create an account and to create a team/join a team, but after that is done, you can log in through the app and record all your activity there. The app can be found in both the App Store (iOS) and the Play Store (Android) under the name „Lífshlaupið“.“. It can also be accessed by clicking here If you're on an iPhone but here If you are using Android.

The registration process is simple and convenient, and clear instructions can be found. Herer.
