A singing festival at Hafnarborg begins on Sunday.
The Hafnarborg Song Festival will be held for the seventh time from 18 June to 2 July 2023. The festival is dedicated to classical music, poetry, opera and choral singing, but this year's theme is „The Blessed Sun Loves Everything“. The festival also aims to honour classical vocal music and to increase public awareness of the art of the voice through concerts and courses.

The festival is dedicated to classical music, poetry, opera and choral singing, but this year's theme for the Song Festival is „The Blessed Sun Loves Everything“. The festival aims to honour classical vocal music and to increase public awareness of the art of the voice through concerts and courses. This year's Song Festival at Hafnarborg will feature eight concerts with outstanding singers and instrumentalists, as well as a variety of courses for children and adults, amateurs and professionals alike. The founders and directors of the Singing Festival are Guðrún Jóhanna Ólafsdóttir, mezzo-soprano, and Francisco Javier Jáuregui, guitarist.
